How  much  do  you  know?

Cobham  &  Sole  Street  Historical  Society

The village of Cobham and its hamlet of Sole Street in Kent, which contain over 450 'listed' buildings, are known for their links with Charles Dickens and its impressive 13th century church but there is much more.

This site has been designed to help you learn about the physical and social history of the area which many residents and visitors are unaware of.  Do you know the connection between a great painter the first person to be extradited from France to England and Halfpence Lane, Cobham or what is the link between the world famous Ashes cricket tournament and Cobham  Church, where was the Cobham coal mine?

The Cobham & Sole Street Historical Society, CaSH's, is currently website based, maintained as a Winter hobby on cold rainy days, by Mike Shipway & Mat Peterson-Pearce - we would love to hear from you if you have any stories, photos or memories.  Much of the content is complied from other web pages for which the authors are thanked.

If anyone has any historical information relating to the Parish, or is interested in transforming it into an active Society

please offer your help via the Contact Page
